GA Connect Integration

This feature is available for the following products:

GA Connect is a handicap service provider in Australia. Golf clubs using GA Connect can set up the integration to:

  1. Retrieve and Update GA Handicaps from GA Connect

  2. Post Scores to GA Connect

In order to utilize these functions, the integration must first be set up.

Setting Up the GA Connect Integration:

The following steps need to be completed to set up the integration.

  1. Navigate to Customer Center > Customer Settings > Default Settings > Handicap Settings. (Note: If you already have events/leagues created that need the integration, navigate to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings for each event/league instead.)

  2. In the GA Handicap Service section, use the dropdown to select "GA Connect" (as shown below).

  3. In the GA Connect Credentials section that appears (as shown above), enter your Username and Password provided to you by GA Connect.

  4. Click "Save" to apply the settings.

Importing Golfers

Golf clubs using GA Connect can import their Master Roster of golfers directly from GA Connect, instead of using a spreadsheet upload. Click Here for instructions on importing and refreshing your Master Roster from GA Connect.

Importing Courses

Course information can be imported directly from GA Connect's course database. Click Here for instructions on importing and managing courses from GA Connect.

Retrieving and Updating GA Handicaps

Once the integration is set up, GA Handicaps can be retrieved and updated for golfers automatically or on demand, for both the Master Roster and any Event/League Roster. Click Here for instructions.

Daily Handicap

Daily Handicap is calculated from the golfer's GA Handicap, adjusted for the course and tee being played, and includes a Consistency Factor specific to Australia — a fixed multiplier of 1.0483 for female golfers and 0.9986 for male golfers.

To see how a golfer's Daily Handicap was calculated for a round, go to Round > Handicap Analysis [CONFIRM: exact navigation/labeling — no screenshot yet].

Note: When a tournament's Handicap Allowance is set to Net, a 0.93 multiplier is automatically applied to Daily Handicap calculations. This can be adjusted for the tournament in Golf Genius; however, scores posted to GA Connect will always use the 0.93 multiplier regardless of the value configured for the tournament. [CONFIRM: want to make sure this framing matches your intent]

Note: TM does not have a native Par tournament type. If your club runs Par competitions, set up a Stableford tournament with points distributed as follows: Hole in One through Birdie = 1 point, Par = 1 point, Bogey through worse = -1 point. GA Connect will treat this as a Par competition for posting purposes.

Posting Scores

Round scores can also be posted back to GA Connect. Click Here for instructions.

Accessing the GA Connect VMS

Golf Genius provides direct access to the GA Connect Vendor Management System (VMS) from the Customer Settings menu. As per Golf Australia's requirements, certain club management functions — hole-by-hole course details entry and editing, the Daily Handicap Look-up chart generator, Conforming Social Score status setting, affiliation fee reconciliation, maintenance of key club contact and office bearer records, maintenance of golf.com.au display information, and Home Club transfers — can only be performed on the GA Connect VMS.

To access the GA Connect VMS, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to Customer Center > Customer Settings > GA Connect VMS (as shown below).

  2. Click "Continue" to open the GA Connect VMS login page in a new browser tab. Log in with your GA Connect VMS credentials to manage your facility on the GA Connect VMS.
