Note: Group Leaders is currently in Beta. Features and behavior may change as development continues.
Running the same group game week after week should not mean building it from scratch each time. Group Leaders can create a new event or trip for their group in a few clicks, or clone an earlier one to reuse its games and settings with a fresh field of Players. This article picks up once the Group Leader has accepted their invitation and signed in, as covered in Getting Started as a Group Leader.

Creating an Event or Trip
To create an event or trip, follow these directions:
From the Group Leader dashboard, click "Create Event / Trip."
Complete the following fields (as shown below):
Name: The name of the event or trip.
Event or Trip: Select Event or Trip. Trip only appears when the club uses trips.
Group: Select the group the event belongs to. This only appears when leading more than one group.
Event Date: Defaults to today. Past and future dates are accepted.
Click "Get Started" to create the event or trip.
A new event opens on the first step of the setup wizard (as shown below). For details on setting up the event, Click Here. A new trip opens the Trip Dashboard.
When an event is created, the following happens automatically:
The event is assigned to the current season and the Groups category.
A single round is created on the selected date, with two empty groups on the tee sheet.
Mobile score entry is turned on when the club has live scoring.
The club's Automatic Handicap Updates setting is copied to the event.
The group's first leader is set as the event's Communication Officer.
Cloning an Event or Trip
Cloning runs the same game again without setting it up from scratch. To clone an event or trip, follow these directions:
From the Group Leader dashboard, click "Clone Event / Trip." Note: "Clone Event" in an event's actions also clones that event.
Complete the following (as shown below):
From: Select the source event or trip to copy.
Name: Enter a name for the copy.
Click "Next".
Select the round dates.
Click "Clone" to create the copy.
The clone event/trip opens on the first step of the setup wizard with all the formats of the original event (as shown below). For details on setting up the event, Click Here.
The copy includes the settings, games, divisions, rounds, portal pages, and logos, but not the Players, so each new game starts with an empty field. It joins the same group as the original and opens in the setup wizard.
The Trip Dashboard
A new group trip opens the Trip Dashboard, a step-by-step guide to running a trip (as shown below). It starts with a Get Started article, then follows the trip in four stages with related articles shown beside them. Each step links to a help article and, where available, a video.
