There are two ways to retrieve and update Base Handicaps from the Sim Golf Handicap Service:
Updating Base Handicaps in the Master Roster and Event/League Roster
Propagating Base Handicaps from the Master Roster to Event/League Roster
In this article, we will discuss both options.
Updating Base Handicaps:
If your players' Base Handicaps are maintained by the Sim Golf Handicap Service, you can quickly retrieve Base Handicaps for the master roster or an event/league at any time. To do this, follow these instructions:
Set up and enable the Sim Golf Handicap Service. Click Here for details on this.
Access the Sim Golf Handicap Service to Update Base Handicaps for:
Master Roster: In the customer center, go to Master Roster > Access Sim Golf Handicap Service to Update Base Handicaps.
Event/League Roster: Within an event/league, go to Golfers > Access Sim Golf Handicap Service to Update Base Handicaps.
Select specific players or all players using the checkboxes. Filter players by custom field and utilize the search to find players quickly.
Select the update method.
(Event/League Only) If you have multiple rounds, select the round you would like to update Base Handicaps for. That round and all following rounds will be updated unless updates have been turned off for that round. For more details on turning off handicap updates for a specific round, Click Here.
Click "Update".
The Base Handicaps for the selected players will then be updated for the event or league (as shown below).
The "Status" column will indicate if the player's Base Handicap was successfully updated. Successfully updated players will be highlighted in green; unsuccessful update attempts will be highlighted in red. The "HDCP" column will display the change in handicaps before and after the update. You can also print the update report in the top right, which shows all players' old and new Base Handicaps and whether their update was successful or unsuccessful.
Note: If you run a weekly league with divisions/flights and meet the following parameters, you can use the automatic re-fill feature:
Create divisions/flights using Competition Handicap or Base Handicap.
Refill the divisions/flights after every Base Handicap update.

Manually Updating Base Handicaps for the Master Roster
If you maintain players in the master roster with Base Handicaps, you can update them by going to Customer Center > Master Roster > Access Sim Golf Handicap Service to Update Base Handicaps.
Automatically Updating Base Handicaps
From Handicap Settings, you can enable automatic Base Handicap updates for an event/league, either a set number of days before each round or on the same day every week. To enable this option, follow these directions:
Within an Event/League, go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings.
Go to the Handicap Services section.
Enable the option "Click to set automatic Handicap Index® updates" (as shown below).
Choose whether to update before each round, before only the first round, or on a specific day of the week.
Make any additional adjustments and click "Save."
Propagate Base Handicaps from the Master Roster:
You can retrieve the Base Handicaps for your entire Master Roster, then propagate the updated Base Handicaps to any future events and leagues. Click Here to see how to propagate Base Handicaps from the master roster.
Automatic Re-Fill for Divisions/Flights:
If you run a weekly league and meet the following parameters, you can use the automatic re-fill feature:
Created divisions/flights using Competition Handicap or Base Handicap.
Re-fill the divisions/flights after every Base Handicap update.
