Can I lock the starting list / pairings? (Japan Customers Only)

Updated this week

Q: Our pairings have already been announced to the players. How can we prevent them from being accidentally changed or overwritten?

A: Managers in the Japan region can use the "Lock Pairings" feature. This region-specific safeguard was developed at the request of the Japan Golf Association (JGA) to prevent operational disruptions. Once this option is enabled for a specific round, all manual edits, automated regenerations, and scheduling tools are disabled for the pairings until the lock is manually removed.

Where do I find the option to Lock Pairings?

You can find this toggle on the Edit Pairings (Rounds > Edit Existing Pairings) page for any specific round (as shown below).

Once the "Lock Pairings" checkbox is selected:

  • The entire action bar on the Edit Pairings page is disabled.

  • No further manual edits or movements can be made.

  • Automated pairing tools are blocked from overwriting existing data.

Which areas of the software are restricted when pairings are locked?

When a round is locked, the system creates a "hard stop" across several locations in the platform to prevent accidental changes:

  • Create New Pairings: You cannot generate new pairings or edit current pairings.

  • Multi-Round Pairings: Pairings cannot be created if at least one round in the sequence is locked.

  • Wave Pairings: Rounds with locked pairings are disabled and cannot be selected on the Wave Schedule page.

  • Round Robin & Brackets: If a round within a series or bracket is locked, scheduling actions for that round are blocked.

  • Rounds Profile: General settings that would alter the pairing structure are restricted.

Is there a record of who locked or unlocked the pairings?

Yes. Every time a manager locks or unlocks a round, a record is created in the Activity Log. To view these changes, navigate to Rounds > Round Player Roster > Player Roster Log.

Can any manager remove the lock?

Any manager with access to the pairings page can lock or unlock them. If you need to make a legitimate change (such as a last-minute player swap), a manager must simply uncheck the "Lock Pairings" box, perform the edit, and re-lock the pairings immediately to restore the safeguard.
