Q: Why is only the Four Provinces flag displayed for golfers on the leaderboard?
A: To comply with Golf Ireland regulations, our system now uses the Four Provinces flag as the unified symbol for all amateur golf competitions across the island of Ireland. Because Golf Ireland governs both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland under a single mandate, a neutral, all-island flag is required for official representation.
To ensure your event stays compliant, the following logic is now active for any organization within the Ireland Region:
Unified Representation: All players, whether they select "Ireland" or "Northern Ireland" as their country, will automatically compete under the Four Provinces flag.
Universal Visibility: This update is reflected across the entire platform to ensure consistency. You will see the Four Provinces flag on:
Digital & Printed Leaderboards: Both on the live portal and physical printouts.
Golfer Profiles: Within the "Edit Profile" section and public-facing rosters.
Registration: Any area where a player’s country or flag is displayed.
Automatic Compliance: This change is triggered by your organization's "Local Region" setting. If you are a Golf Ireland-affiliated club, this flag is mandatory and cannot be manually swapped for the Tricolour or Union Jack.
