Golf Genius AI is your behind-the-scenes assistant for Tournament Management, purpose-built for those hectic final minutes before a round starts. Just tell it what you need in plain language and it gets to work. From the AI Assistant, you can manage pairings, set tee times, update round statuses, and more — all without navigating through menus.
In this article, we will discuss how to enable, access, and use the Golf Genius AI Assistant.
Enabling Golf Genius AI
Customer Managers can enable Golf Genius AI directly from the Customer Center. To enable Golf Genius AI, follow these directions:
Navigate to Customer Settings > Beta Programs.
Locate the Golf Genius AI section and select Enabled (as shown below).
Click Save to apply the settings.
Note: Once enabled, managers on the account can access the AI Assistant in the Golf Genius mobile app and at ai.golfgenius.com.
Accessing Golf Genius AI
Golf Genius AI can be accessed in two ways — from the Golf Genius mobile app or from the web at ai.golfgenius.com.
Mobile App
To access Golf Genius AI from the mobile app, follow these directions:
Open the Golf Genius mobile app.
Log in with your manager's email and password. Note: This would be the same email and password you use to access your customer center and events/leagues as a manager, NOT a player.
Click the Menu hamburger button.
Click AI Assistant.
Click the dropdown arrow to access more details (as shown below).
Select the following:
Club: If you are the manager of multiple facilities, select the facility for the event/league you wish to work in. Note: Only facilities with the AI Agent enabled will be displayed.
Event/League: Select the event or league.
Notes:
The event or league with your next upcoming round will load automatically.
Only events and leagues in the current season will appear in the AI Assistant.
Only events and leagues with at least one round scheduled for today or in the future will be displayed.
Round: Select the Round you wish to work in.
Web Access
Golf Genius AI is also accessible via desktop at ai.golfgenius.com. Log in with your Golf Genius account credentials and select the customer, event, and round you want to manage. The interface is identical to the mobile app experience.
What Golf Genius AI Can Do
Golf Genius AI supports two types of actions:
Information Retrieval: Requests that retrieve information without making any changes, such as displaying the tee sheet, looking up a player's handicap, or checking round details. These are executed immediately without requiring confirmation.
Changes: Requests that modify records, such as swapping players or setting tee times. Before any changes are made, the AI Assistant will present a plan for you to review and confirm. Changes are only applied after you confirm (as shown below).
Pairings
From the AI Assistant, you can ask it to:
Swap two players between pairings
Move players or entire pairings on the tee sheet
Add players from the event roster to a pairing
Remove players or blinds from a pairing
Add a blind draw to a pairing
Add a new pairing row
Swap or move holes across pairings
Tee Times and Course Setup
From the AI Assistant, you can ask it to:
Set a tee time for a specific group
Set tee times across all groups using an interval (e.g., "Set tee times starting at 8am with 10 minute intervals")
Shift existing tee times earlier or later
Set a shotgun start
Set the course and tee for specific players or groups
Round Management
From the AI Assistant, you can ask it to:
Change the round status (Not Started, In Progress, Completed)
Enable or disable mobile scoring
Roster Management
From the AI Assistant, you can also manage the event roster by asking it to:
Display the full event roster
Add a new golfer to the event roster
Update an existing golfer's profile on the event roster
Information Retrieval
From the AI Assistant, you can ask it to:
Display the full tee sheet
Look up a specific player's pairing, tee time, and position
Retrieve handicap index and playing handicap information for players
Find players not currently assigned to a pairing
Retrieve round details such as round date, tournament status, and mobile scoring status
Substitutes
If your pairings were created based on teams, the AI Assistant can also manage substitutes conversationally. You can ask it to sub out a player from a team and the assistant will swap the player within both the team and the pairing.

General Notes
The following are general notes about using the AI Agent:
All actions are scoped to the event and round selected at the start of your session. You cannot access or modify pairings from a different event or round within the same session.
Messages are limited to 500 characters.
The AI Assistant supports fuzzy name matching — player, course, and tee names do not need to be typed perfectly for the assistant to find them.
Troubleshooting
Golf Genius AI is not appearing in the mobile app.
Confirm the following:
Golf Genius AI is enabled under Customer Settings > Beta Programs.
The event or league is assigned to the current season.
The event or league has at least one round scheduled for today or in the future.
The logged-in user has an Event Manager or Customer Manager role for the selected event.
Managers who are also registered as players in a league may experience access issues in the mobile app. Please assign a different email to your golf profile.
