Dynamic Fields are the engine behind personalization and automation in Golf Genius TM. They act as smart placeholders that automatically pull specific data from your event, player roster, rounds, and more - seamlessly inserting it into emails, text messages, reports, and portal pages.
Instead of manually entering unique details for every player, a single Dynamic Field adapts to each recipient - delivering personalized, accurate information at scale.
How Dynamic Fields Work
In Golf Genius, a Dynamic Field is a variable formatted like %Field_Name%. When generating a communication or report, the system scans the content for placeholders wrapped in % signs and automatically replaces them with the corresponding data for each recipient.
The "Merge" Process
The Template: You write: "Dear %FirstName%, your tee time is %TeeTime%."
The Result:
Player A receives: "Dear John, your tee time is 8:30 AM."
Player B receives: "Dear Sarah, your tee time is 8:42 AM."

Pro-Tips for Using Dynamic Fields
Case Sensitivity: Always use the "Insert" menu to ensure the field is formatted correctly. Manually typing them can sometimes lead to errors if the spacing or capitalization is off.
The Search Bar: When using the email editor, use the search bar within the "Dynamic Fields" menu to quickly find specific fields.
Test Your Emails: Always send a Test Email to yourself. The system will usually populate the test with your own data or sample data to ensure the fields are pulling correctly.
Custom Fields: If you create a Custom Field (like "Caddie Name"), Golf Genius automatically generates a corresponding
%Field%for you to use.
